The coherence of an Organsation: eNPS – One of 8 strategic indicators in Dacsa Group

$

0

There are decisive and consistent decisions, which give much value to the widespread assertion that people are the most important asset of a company.

A clear example is the fact that in 2021 Dacsa Group have decided to elevate, to strategic, the indicator that measures the commitment and satisfaction of the people who work in it.  This is through the eNPS, Employee Net Promoter Score, which is monitored quarterly at all of the group’s production plants.

The eNPS is a simple, standardised indicator that measures the likelihood that an employee would recommend their company to their acquaintances as a good place to work.

Completely linked to the first-person experience, we all talk about the companies where we work and the people we work with. To recommend is to give an opinion that is closely linked to the emotion produced by memories of one’s own experience at work. That is why this indicator is such a good gauge.

The eNPS is demanding, and classifies according to the response as follows:

  • Promoters (9-10): Employees who would recommend their company to work for.
  • Passive (7-8): Those who are neutral in their opinion.
  • Detractors (0-6): Employees who are not particularly satisfied and therefore less committed.

The Dacsa Group’s eNPS in 2020 was 16%, with a response rate of 70%. We are going to improve it further at each site and each work centre. To this end, management have drawn up an Action Plan where they monitor the impact of all actions.

It is consistent with our clear customer focus, which is thus extended to the internal customer. It is also a decision linked to our leadership model. This is because we have integrated two compelling pieces of evidence:

  • The first is that customer relationships are closely linked to the experience of the company’s employees.
  • The second is that we want to nurture and help build positive professional relationships, and a safe and positive working environment where people want to do their best.

The more committed and satisfied a person is in their job, the better it is for their customers inside and outside of the company.

Dare to lead: don’t just say it, do it!

WORKSHOP TO RECONNECT WITH DACSA GROUP’S LEADERSHIP MODEL

$
0
0

In 2018 Dacsa Group launched its own Leadership Model.

The model was developed by a team of 31 managers, from all Dacsa Group plants, with the aim of promoting the understanding of leadership within the company. It is a simple and aspirational model.

Three years later it was time to look in the mirror and ask ourselves, what has changed since then? How has it helped us? What do we like or miss the most? And how to look ahead to continue your development.

During the last months we have organized several workshops where people from all plants of the group have participated, many of whom already participated in its origin and many of the people who have joined the company in recent years. The sessions have been accompanied by members of the management committee and the board of directors.

Our Director, Araceli Císcar, told us in one of the sessions that “Dacsa is a company of shared efforts. The Leadership Model does not understand hierarchies and is applicable to any job position”.

In the sessions, it was possible to share the key ideas of the model and its application:

  1. It is an oriented model that contributes to maintaining a healthy and productive work environment.
  2.  Leadership at Dacsa is the ability to do better to those around you.
  3.  It is necessary to learn to establish productive distances with those around us.
  4. Making Mistakes is part of the learning process, so it is essential to generate a space of trust.
  5. Listening and participation are essential to keep relationships of trust.
  6. Conduct is more powerful than any words, it is led by example.

During the sessions, many ideas, comments, and reflections were shared, but we emphasized that it is a live model, where people of Dacsa identify.

At Dacsa we think that the Leadership Model is a lever for change.

If you want to discover the Dacsa Leadership Model, you will find the keys to become your best version as a leader.

That Leader  is possibly you.

Dacsa Group invests in the Startup Vegaffinity

$

0

Dacsa Group has invested in the Murcian startup Vegaffinity, the ecommerce leader in the vegan market in Spanish-speaking countries.

In 2014 Vegaffinity was created as a platform to provide nutritional and dietary information to vegetarians and vegans. All this thanks to recipes, a forum and constant content.

Thanks to the success of the initiative, in 2015 it was completed with an online shop with healthy products aimed at the vegetarian and vegan sector. A platform that aims to become, in the coming years, a reference for the purchase of vegan products, but also an inspiration for non-vegans to try plant protein products.

The alliance with Dacsa Group is a great opportunity for the startup to internationalise its activities due to the extensive experience in the food sector offered by the group. For Dacsa, it is a big step forward in its activities in the vegan market.

Both companies share an interest in offering healthier products with the least possible impact on the planet. They are joining forces to offer solutions to the plant-based products market, a market that is expected to reach a global market of 162 billion by 2030.

With this new initiative, Dacsa Group once again confirms its commitment to the plant-based alternatives market. An action in line with the group’s philosophy of offering sustainable and healthy solutions.

Below we interview Jesus Cerezuela, CEO & Founder of Vegaffinity:

  • What does the alliance with Dacsa Group mean for Vegaffinity?

For a startup like Vegaffinity, having the honour of collaborating with Dacsa is invaluable. They have extensive experience in the food sector and we share much of their vision of offering healthier products with the lowest possible impact on the planet. The new product line they are launching, Hi-Vegs, is the result of this experience and their willingness to offer products made from vegetable protein in their portfolio, which is exactly what we are experts in. So, it’s a win-win.

  • How will the demand for plant-based products evolve?

The global plant-based protein market is expected to reach 162 billion by 2030, a market that is only growing and will continue to grow. Regardless of the ethical reasons for vegans not to eat animal products, there is a global warning that climate change is affecting our society, forcing us to look for plant-based protein sources as an alternative to the inefficiency of animal protein production. In addition, there are multiple diseases derived from high meat consumption that we can alleviate with healthier sources.

  • What are the next challenges for Vegaffinity?

We want to become the reference platform to buy vegan products, and that means helping people who are already vegan, but also to inspire people to try these type of products, and that means making them more accessible. The next challenge is not only to offer 100% vegan products, but also content that teaches people what products to use for each occasion and that inspires people to eat a balanced diet.

The Heura Sustainable Hackathon rewards a more environmentally friendly rice package

Last October, the open innovation marathon was heldorganised by the consulting firm Heura. In it, 6 teams of university and business school students competed to solve the challenges launched by the 3 challenging companies, Tejidos Royo, SPB and Dacsa Group.

The challenge launched by Dacsa Group was the elimination or reduction of plastic packaging for 1 kg rice Arroz Dacsa. To do so, the teams had to create a solution that was more environmentally friendly, efficient and maintained quality.

The six participating teams worked over two 10-hour days to come up with sustainable and potentially viable solutions to the challenges. These solutions were presented to the challenging companies and the jury on the third day of the event.

The winning team presented one of the solutions to the challenge posed by Dacsa, a 1 kg rice package with a small modification, a self-closing format that reduces the plastic in each pack by 0.6 g, without affecting production.

The jury chose it as the winner of this first Heura Sustainable Hackathon after assessing its innovation, applicability, sustainability and adaptation to the proposed challenges.

Dacsa Group´s participation in this event has been very enriching and a way to show, once again, our commitment to sustainability and the reduction of our environmental footprint.

Dacsa Group is once again collaborating in 2021 with Fundación Novaterra by supporting its “More than a flower” campaign. The Christmas campaign that promotes fundraising for the social and labour integration of people who have difficulties in finding work, through the sale of Poinsettias flowers.

The Novaterra Foundation is a non-profit association whose mission is the social and labour integration of people in situations of exclusion. To this end, they promote employability, intermediation and job creation, as well as raising society’s awareness of situations of exclusion by denouncing and proposing alternatives.

Its “More than a flower” campaign, launched in 1993, is already a classic at this time of year. In the last edition, it managed to raise 28,000 euros through the sale of more than 15,000 poinsettias. This has resulted in 92 people being trained and 233 people being hired.

In 2021, the charity initiative is back on track to raise new funds to allocate to its social action, and it is doing so in a more sustainable way than ever. In fact, all the Poinsettia come from nurseries in the Valencian Community specialising in Easter flowers, with zero waste biodegradable pots, made from recycled materials that can be recycled again.

For another year Dacsa Group wants to be part of this campaign through the purchase of poinsettias for its workers at the Dacsa Valencia plant because we understand that this campaign is #morethanaflower and we want to contribute positively to the social and labour inclusion that it promotes.
